The Brisbane Bush Wackers wasted an impressive 6-inning effort from starter Collin Ray, falling 2-1 to the Palm Beach Bums at Baylor Ballpark. Palm Beach reliever Armando Méndez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Bernard Coste absorbed the loss. With the win, the Bums have a record of 38-118.
Yoshihiro Suzuki made it 2-1, Palm Beach, in the top of the eighth when he hit a run-scoring single. It was a big at-bat in the Bums win.
"We were in it," said Brisbane manager Pete Barrett. "We just didn't score enough runs."
