Victory Over Dancin' Outlaws Takes Westside to 122-32
|
Westside got a first-rate effort from pitcher Hyun-tae Hwan, who frustrated West Virginia hitters en route to a 3-1 Road Warriors triumph at Penlee Park. In 6 innings, Hwan surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Nicholas Winslow was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 18 save opportunities.
Craig Hilton in the top of the eighth had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 3rd and the Road Warriors leading 2-1, the Westside pinch hitter hit a run-scoring single.
Hwan said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
The Road Warriors, at 122-32, have a comfortable 15-game lead in their division.
