The Maple Marauders turned back the San Francisco Earthquakes, 7-6, at Legends Park. George Soucy was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 4-4 with 4 singles. Andrés Ramos picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Jo-hsi Sang was tagged with the loss. Maple is third in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division with a record of 25-24.
In the bottom of the fourth, Maple catcher Ricardo Corte had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Corte stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 7-5, Maple. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Maple manager Arinori Nakamura.
