Hipsters Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Road Warriors
The Westside Road Warriors got a superb performance from pitcher Lucas van Alpen, but the Austin Hipsters still won the game, 4-2. van Alpen was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 5 innings allowing 1 run. The win was credited to Norm Hall in relief. His record improves to 4-5. Pablo Merced took the loss. Austin is now 56-95. Westside is 119-32.

Both teams had trouble scoring runs. So, Carlton Davies's at-bat in the top of the eighth was crucial. With two out, the Austin left fielder hit a run-scoring single, to give his team a 2-1 lead.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Davies.
