The Houston Sting got a superb performance from pitcher George Bedford, who shut out the Kansas City Blue Spaders, 6-0. Bedford, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 1 walk. The misery continues for the Blue Spaders, which has now dropped 11 in a row.

Houston left fielder Mathew Daniel made his contribution to the Sting cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. For the day, Daniel went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
