Gurston Helps West Virginia Cruise to 12-3 Win
The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws had no problem beating the Springfield Capitals, 12-3, at Penlee Park. Ethan Gurston led the way. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once for West Virginia. Joe Hutchins got the win, improving to 6-3. He held the Capitals to 3 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The Dancin' Outlaws' win now puts them at 84-62.

One significant plate appearance for West Virginia came with two out in the bottom of the first inning. Dancin' Outlaws second baseman Karl Hoover hit a 2-run single, which helped West Virginia go on to win.

"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Hoover told the West Virginia Today.
