Sting Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
In a well-pitched game between the Houston Sting and the Beach City Seals, pitcher George Bedford was superb. The Houston right-hander was named the player of the game in Houston's 3-1 win. Juan Carlos Baraja was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 16 save opportunities. The 4th-place Sting have won 4 straight.
Houston took a 3-1 lead on Ron Oliver's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Beach City pitcher Dae-il Chon in the top of the eighth.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Houston manager Robby Tate said.
