Salviati Stars for Knights in 6-4 Win
|
Getting a good performance from shortstop Justin Salviati, the Sioux City Knights defeated the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws, 6-4. Salviati was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Knights. Walker Baldwin locked down his 30th save. The Knights, at 85-58, lead by one game in their division.
In the bottom of the 2nd, the Knights grabbed the lead when Fernando Díaz rapped a two-out single. Sioux City was trailing 3-2, when Díaz hit a 2-run single off Iestyn Stanbridge to put his team in front, 4-3.
Salviati said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a pretty good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
