Berserkers Take Nail-Biter Over Patriots

Minnesota left-hander Kitahachi Gato helped his team edge Manhattan Beach by the score of 3-2. Gato kept the opposing lineup in check. Minnesota currently is in 5th place in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division at 21-28.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Jim Burry came to bat in the bottom of the 13th. Facing Manhattan Beach pitcher Félix Betancourt, he hit a 2-0 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Minnesota on top, 3-2.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Minnesota manager Jerry Miller.
