Loss to Princes Extends Springfield Losing Streak
|
Bel Air rode a decent outing from starter Bryce Miles to victory over the Springfield Capitals at Philip Banks Field. The final score was 6-4. Miles went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 0, and struck out 9. His record improves to 13-2. Norihisa Sakai picked up the save, his 13th.
Martín Martínez had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Princes. Coming up with the bases loaded and Bel Air trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.
"We're our own worst enemy right now," said Springfield skipper Anthony Mays.
The losses continue to add up for Springfield, which has now fallen 8 times in a row.
