Westside Hot Streak Continues with 8-1 Win
|
Daryl Walder was superb against Bethesda. The right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the AHL with a 2.58 ERA, had a change up that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 8-1 Road Warriors victory. The winning pitcher was Walder, now 17-3. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 12. The first-place Road Warriors have won 9 straight games.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the first inning. Facing Bethesda hurler Nariaki Hamada, Zhuo-cheng Min, the 27 overall pick in the 2028 draft, grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Road Warriors went on to win.
"I liked his command," said Westside manager Tim Duncan. "Daryl was throwing strikes."
