Road Warriors Come Back Late to Top Sting
|
The Westside Road Warriors topped the Houston Sting, 7-4, with youngster Jim Kempenaars playing a key role. Kempenaars went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Road Warriors in the win. The winner was Nicholas Winslow in relief. His record improves to 10-2. Rogério Sastre took the loss. Houston has now lost 4 straight.
Westside grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, Lewis Pitman delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 5-4 in favor of the Road Warriors.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Pitman. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
