Conditions were not ideal but Austin and Palm Beach were able to put their game in the books.

Palm Beach pitcher Takeo Tsuchiya gave the Hipsters all they could handle, but in the end, Austin left Envoys Ballpark with a 5-4 win. Tsuchiya allowed no earned runs on 3 hits over 6 innings. Nathan Diprose was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities.

A critical at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning when the Hipsters sent 19-year-old left fielder Okakura Masuda to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to put Austin on top, 4-1.

"It was a good effort all around," said Masuda.

The Hipsters sit in 5th place in the August Herrman League Mr. Met Division with a record of 54-84.
