Princes Come Up Short at Stroudsburg
|
The Stroudsburg Shade did just enough to sneak past the Bel Air Princes, 4-3, at Tim Raines Stadium. Stroudsburg pitcher Norogumi Yokoyama earned player of the game honors. Yokoyama, the winner, moves to 9-10. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Martín Pérez was credited with the save for Stroudsburg, his 19th of the season.
It could have been a different outcome for Stroudsburg, had it not been for Dae-ki Yi, the 20-year old catcher . Yi contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to put Stroudsburg up, 3-0.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Yokoyama.
The Shade raised their record to 50-87.
