|
With first baseman Bill Riel leading the charge, the Sioux City Knights defeated the Bel Air Princes, 13-4, at Philip Banks Field. Riel, who is tied for 6th in the AHL with a .455 slugging percentage, was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The second-place Knights have won 5 straight.
Riel contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the second. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Sioux City get the win.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Sioux City manager Leland Ray.
