Houston starter Maurice Hesmondhalgh put a stranglehold on the West Virginia offense. The left-hander had complete command of his change up in leading the Sting to a 7-0 win. The 4th-place Sting are now 72-62, the Dancin' Outlaws 75-59.

Hesmondhalgh scattered 1 hit over 7.1 innings for the Sting. With the win, Hesmondhalgh goes to 11-2 on the year with 160 strikeouts.
