Kansas City Makes It 6 Straight with 3-2 Win
|
Kansas City and West Virginia played a hard-fought contest at Penlee Park.
The Kansas City Blue Spaders faced a tough opponent in West Virginia pitcher Joe Hutchins, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Penlee Park by a final score of 3-2. Hutchins went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Carlos Solís was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 7 save opportunities.
Neither team could produce runs. So, Jorge Hernández's at-bat in the top of the ninth was critical. With one out, the Kansas City catcher hit a 2-run single, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
