Late Rally by Knights Seals 5th Straight Win
|
Sioux City beat Bethesda at Knights Field, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Justin Salviati, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. The Sioux City winning streak has now reached 5 games.
A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the eighth inning when the Knights sent 21-year-old pinch hitter Billy Gibson to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run, to put Sioux City on top, 7-6.
"I believe in our guys," said Sioux City skipper Leland Ray. "I like the energy they're playing with."
