Road Warriors Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Westside Road Warriors powered past the Stroudsburg Shade, 10-7, at Tim Raines Stadium. Joe Porter went 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, to lead the charge. Daryl Walder got the win, improving to 14-3. He worked 5 innings, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. The first-place Road Warriors now have a 4-game winning streak.
In the top of the fifth, Porter had one of his most important at-bats: a 2-run single off Richard Thompson that staked the Road Warriors to a 7-5 lead.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Porter.
