Springfield beat Houston, 6-5. The win in part was due to designated hitter Takehide Sasaki, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. Tom Pick earned the save, his 3rd, for the Capitals. Houston, at 68-61, has lost 5 straight.
Sasaki had no bigger at-bat than in the bottom of the sixth when the 20-year old third baseman hit a double. The double gave Springfield the lead, 4-3. It was his 17th double of the season.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Springfield manager Anthony Mays.
