Big Game from Corbitt Not Enough, Sting Lose
The Houston Sting got a superb performance from second baseman Harry Corbitt. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Springfield. The Capitals won the game, 14-11. In spite of the loss, Corbitt was named the player of the game. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 5 times and driving in 2. Springfield reliever Máximo Martínez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Fernando Martínez was saddled with the loss. Tom Pick closed the door for Springfield, picking up his 2nd save of the year.

Springfield took a 7-5 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, right fielder Hyo-sang O hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

Houston manager Robby Tate said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score that many runs, you expect to win the game."

This win makes it 5 in a row for Springfield.
