Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Gamblers
Las Vegas beat Duke City at The Ballpark at Potomac Yard , escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Ralph Blair, who earned player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times. Bernalldo Rocchi, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. With the win over Duke City, the Gamblers improved to 28-20.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 4-4, first baseman Bill Hawken won it for Las Vegas. With a runner on 1st, Hawken hit a full count sinker from Andy Smithey for a run-scoring double, giving his team a 5-4 win.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Las Vegas manager Jesús Alfaro.
