Eagles Prevail, 3-1, Over Westside
|
Whitewater Eagles starter Dennis Montgomery pitched a strong game against the Westside Road Warriors at The Aerie, leading the Eagles to a 3-1 win. Whitewater reliever Nicolas Joubert was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Lucas van Alpen took the loss. The Eagles, at 62-59, sit in 4th place in the August Herrman League Phillie Phanatic Division.
In the bottom of the 6th, center fielder Joe Donahue gave Whitewater the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Eagles had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out home run off Westside pitcher Lucas van Alpen changed that -- and Whitewater went on to win.
"I really like what we did out there today," Donahue said after the game.
