Bush Wackers Deal Knights Painful Loss
|
In a tight game between the Brisbane Bush Wackers and the Sioux City Knights, pitcher Royce Leveque was terrific on the mound. The Brisbane left-hander was named the player of the game in Brisbane's 1-0 win. At 71-47, the Bush Wackers find themselves in first place in the August Herrman League Phillie Phanatic Division.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 0-0, designated hitter Gerald Wilson won it for Brisbane. With the bases loaded, Wilson hit a first pitch fastball from Yohachi Adachi for a run-scoring double, giving his team a 1-0 win.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Leveque said.
