5 Straight Wins for Eagles
|
The Whitewater Eagles topped the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws, 4-2, in August Herrman League action at Penlee Park. The player of the game was Whitewater pitcher and Lewisville, Texas native Will Doyle. Doyle, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. The 4th-place Eagles have won 5 consecutive games.
Also having an impact was designated hitter Howard Truscott, who stroked a triple in the top of the first for Whitewater. For the game, Truscott went 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Whitewater manager Michel Hérault.
