Late Rally by Hornets Secures Win
|
In a tight battle between the Bethesda Hornets and the Houston Sting, pitcher Yoshino Nakagawa was in the zone. The Bethesda right-hander was named the player of the game in Bethesda's 3-1 win. Getting the save was Javier Sánchez, his 5th. The Hornets now have a record of 46-71 with the win over Houston.
Jean-Yves Girard's at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth was critical. The Bethesda designated hitter hit a 2-run home run, to put his team on top, 3-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Nakagawa said.
