Palm Beach shortstop Alejandro Marés was instrumental in his team's 8-5 win over the Beach City Seals. Marés, who is tied for 9th in the AHL in hits with 89, went 2-2 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Bums. John Freemann, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save. Even with the win, the Bums have a dismal 23-84 record.

With Palm Beach trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Marés hit a slider from Edwin Crespin for a 2-run single. It was his 89th hit of the season and put the Bums ahead, 5-4.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Marés.
