Maurice Hesmondhalgh was superb against Brisbane. The left-hander, who is tied for 4th in the AHL with a 2.04 ERA, had a knuckleball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 6-3 Sting victory. With the victory, the Sting record now stands at 59-52.
Troy Roberts drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Houston. In the bottom of the seventh, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Roberts delivered for the Sting. His run-scoring walk put Houston on top, 3-2.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Hesmondhalgh.
