Victory Pushes Bush Wackers Record to 62-44
|
A nice crowd turned out to see the Brisbane Bush Wackers and Kansas City Blue Spaders clash at Baylor Ballpark.
The Brisbane Bush Wackers stymied the Kansas City Blue Spaders, 4-1, at Baylor Ballpark. Val Mullins, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI for Brisbane. Brisbane reliever Owen Kay got the win, raising his record to 1-2. Fred Argueta was tagged with the loss.
The Bush Wackers got a big at-bat from third baseman Roy Lovelace. For the game, Lovelace was 1-4. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 13th hit of the season gave Brisbane a 2-1 lead.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Mullins.
Today's win puts Brisbane at 62-44, while Kansas City falls to 35-71.
