|
Despite a great performance by Brisbane designated hitter Ryuichi Ine, the Stroudsburg Shade defeated the Bush Wackers by the score of 5-4 at Tim Raines Stadium. Ine was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Liu-liang Ying, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The Shade now own a record of 39-62.
The Shade were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when third baseman Yoichibei Suzuki turned a first pitch fastball from Edgardo Sáenz into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Stroudsburg a thrilling 5-4 win.
"This place was jumping at the end," Suzuki said.
