Princes Shut Out Capitals

David Myers pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Springfield Capitals, despite Myers's fine outing, dropped a 2-0 decision to the Bel Air Princes at Prairie Field. Getting the save was Norihisa Sakai, his 8th. Bel Air has an impressive 77-25 record.
A critical at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning when the Princes sent 21-year-old pinch hitter Tom Bailey to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a sacrifice fly, to put Bel Air on top, 1-0.
"Credit where credit is due," said Bailey, "this was a team win."
