The Springfield Capitals got a superb performance from right fielder Kumanosuke Ota, but the Bel Air Princes still won the game, 4-3. Ota was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Bel Air reliever Jimmy Moon picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Sachi Kakuta absorbed the loss. The second-place Princes have won 5 straight games.

Bel Air pinch hitter Jim James said he was just trying to make contact when he came to bat with the bases empty in the top of the seventh. He did more than that -- James hit a solo home run to stake Bel Air to a 4-3 lead. His 7th home run of the season came off Springfield pitcher Sachi Kakuta.

After the game, Bel Air manager Raúl Luna applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
