Prowlers Win Thriller, 2-1
|
Oklahoma City beat Portland on the strength of starter He-ping Wang's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 2-1 win. Oklahoma City reliever Tadaaki Tahara picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Alonso Esquivel shouldered the loss. The Prowlers, at 28-18, have now won 4 straight.
José Soto was the walk-off hero for Oklahoma City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Oklahoma City second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I liked his command," said Oklahoma City manager Jon Gander. "He-ping was throwing strikes."
