Road Warriors Knock Off Houston at Woodland Park
|
The Westside Road Warriors relied on the hitting of left fielder Carlos Román to stop the Houston Sting, 5-3. For the game, Román was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win was credited to Joe Mason in relief. His record improves to 11-1. Naizen Uchiyama took the loss. Shang-de Hua earned the save, his 6th, for the Road Warriors.
Román had a big at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Road Warriors went on to win.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Román.
The Road Warriors improved to a lofty 78-21.
