Eagles Stymie Brisbane, Take 3-1 Win
|
The Whitewater Eagles and Brisbane Bush Wackers completed their game despite the inclement weather.
Whitewater got a first-rate effort from pitcher Mike Campbell, who frustrated Brisbane hitters en route to a 3-1 Eagles triumph at The Aerie. Campbell, now 5-7, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run.
Howard Truscott, who is tied for 9th in the AHL in triples with 3, aided the Whitewater cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the second. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 4.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Campbell said.
The Eagles are now 45-49, while the Bush Wackers fall to 55-39.
