Myers K's 14 En Route to 3-1 Capitals Win
The Springfield Capitals got a magnificent effort from pitcher David Myers, who kept Bethesda hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Capitals win at Prairie Field. Takashi Toru earned his 33rd save in 37 tries. Springfield now sits in third place in the August Herrman League Mr. Met Division at 61-31.

Myers, a native of Stockton, California, was dealing all game. He kept Bethesda hitters off-balance, while giving the Capitals 5.1 quality innings. Myers threw 86 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 14.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Springfield manager Anthony Mays said.
