Conditions were not ideal but Brisbane and Westside were able to put their game in the books.
Brisbane Bush Wackers starter Subaru Suzuki kept the Westside Road Warriors hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-2 win. Suzuki, now 7-3, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Ronnie Cox got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Jesús Guzmán broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the third with a run-scoring single. It put the Bush Wackers in front, 1-0. For the game, Guzmán was 1-4 with a walk.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Guzmán.
Brisbane improves to 54-36 with the win. They lead their division by 2½ games.
