It was a good time at Hornets Field, where fans came to watch the Sioux City Knights and Bethesda Hornets get after it.
Bethesda got an elite performance from starting pitcher Alberto García in taking a 6-1 decision over the Sioux City Knights. García, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks.
It could have been a different outcome for Bethesda, had it not been for Nobuhito Kouno, the 20-year old center fielder . Kouno contributed a 2-run double in the bottom of the third inning to put Bethesda up, 2-1.
"I found a nice groove out there," said García.
With the win, the Hornets have a record of 39-50.
