The Springfield Capitals beat the Houston Sting, 7-5, at Woodland Park. Springfield left fielder Nicolas Léger earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. Springfield has an impressive 59-30 record.

Melis Schmidt helped out the Springfield cause in the top of the ninth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder drew 1 walk in 2 trips to the plate.
