Sting Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Starting pitcher Naizen Uchiyama pitched well enough to help the Houston Sting beat the Sioux City Knights by the score of 6-3. Uchiyama, now 3-4, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Juan Carlos Baraja converted his 4th save in 5 tries.
Aomori, Japan-born Nobuharu Morita came through in the clutch. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st and the Sting trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run to left-center to put Houston on top.
"I like the roll we're on," said Houston manager Robby Tate.
The 4th-place Sting have won 4 straight games.
