Capitals Knock Off Kansas City at Prairie Field
The Springfield Capitals overcame a good performance by Kansas City left fielder Josh Dronfield to knock off Kansas City, 9-6, at Prairie Field. Dronfield went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Takashi Toru sewed up the save, his 31st. The Capitals raised their record to 58-29.

Springfield took a 8-6 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, pinch hitter Jim Unknown hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Unknown told the Springfield Today.
