The Westside Road Warriors topped the Whitewater Eagles, 5-4, with designated hitter Jim Kempenaars playing a big role. Kempenaars went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Road Warriors in the win. The winner was Pablo Merced in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Yasukatsu Yonemura took the loss. The first-place Road Warriors now have a 5-game winning streak.
Joe Porter's at-bat in the bottom of the first was significant for the Road Warriors. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Westside leading 1-0, the catcher drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
