The Bush Wackers faced a stiff challenge from Springfield pitcher Qing-lai Cong, but persevered to claim a win at Baylor Ballpark. The final score was 2-1. Cong went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Brisbane reliever Bernard Coste, now 1-0. The loser was Bill Poulin. Brisbane is 50-31 and Springfield, with the loss, 55-27.
Tsuginori Sasaki had the critical at-bat for Brisbane. With one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, he grounded out, driving in 1 run. It gave Brisbane the 2-1 walk-off win.
"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Sasaki. "The only team that can beat us is us."
