Kansas City and Sioux City duked it out at The Whig Stadium and the Blue Spaders came out victorious.
Kansas City Blue Spaders starter Silvino Fagundo turned in a top-notch performance against the Sioux City Knights at The Whig Stadium. The result was a win for the Blue Spaders, 3-1. Fagundo, the winner, moves to 3-9. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. Earning his 16th save of the year was Li-zhu Kuang.
Gagan Pavani helped out the Kansas City cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles.
Pavani told the Kansas City Herald: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
Even with the win, the Blue Spaders have a dismal 23-59 record.
