Houston Sting starter Maurice Hesmondhalgh was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Bethesda Hornets, 5-0. The winning pitcher was Hesmondhalgh, now 6-0. He tossed 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. The 4th-place Sting have won 4 straight.
The Houston triumph was a team effort. Not least among the contributors was Nobuharu Morita. In the top of the second, the Houston center fielder hit a 2-run double. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play ever better," said Houston manager Robby Tate.
