Isao Tanaka did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Bethesda Hornets from losing, 6-5, to the Houston Sting at Hornets Field. Tanaka went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Fernando Martínez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. Jesús Hernández was tagged with the loss. Houston now owns a record of 39-40.

Mathew Daniel's at-bat in the top of the seventh inning was a big one for Houston. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Houston leading 5-4, the left fielder hit a run-scoring single.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Daniel told the Houston Chronicle.
