Bums Bump Off Blue Spaders, 2-1
|
Kansas City wasted a solid 6-inning effort from starting pitcher Haden Nunn, losing to Palm Beach, 2-1, at Envoys Ballpark. Palm Beach reliever Iván Valenzuela picked up the win, upping his record to 1-5. José Canseco absorbed the loss. John Freemann notched his 1st save in 1 chances.
Palm Beach took a 2-1 lead on Joey Milledge's 63rd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Milledge hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Kansas City pitcher José Canseco visibly frustrated.
Milledge said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
With the victory, the Bums record now stands at 18-62.
