The Beach City Seals knocked off the Springfield Capitals, 8-4, at Prairie Field. Walt Keough, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Beach City won. The third baseman went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Vic Smith got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. With the win, the Seals improved to 31-47.

In the top of the second, Héctor Garza hit a 2-run home run for Beach City. The 4th home run of the season for the Beach City designated hitter put the Seals on top, 2-0.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Keough.
