Hornets Clip Blue Spaders in Tight Contest
|
Douglas D'Eath was instrumental in his team's 10-4 triumph over the Kansas City Blue Spaders. The third baseman went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Bethesda Hornets. The last-place Blue Spaders have lost 9 consecutive games.
Matthew Purglove was a key contributor to the win for the Hornets. In the top of the seventh with no one out, the light-hitting designated hitter stroked a single to center. He was 2-5 with 2 singles.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Kansas City manager Jack O'Callahan.
