Hornets Field was the site of a tense game between the Bethesda Hornets and Brisbane Bush Wackers.
The Brisbane Bush Wackers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Gabriel Fajardo, who kept Bethesda hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Bush Wackers win at Hornets Field. Brisbane has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the sixth inning when the Bush Wackers sent teenager Josh Bowmer to the plate against Hornets hurler John Curnew. With a runner on 1st and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a triple off a 2-1 fastball to score 1.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Francisco Solano. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
